CARTHAGE MIDDLE SCHOOL: 3
The LJHS Eagles began the season in exciting fashion, walking off Carthage in the bottom of the 8th inning for a 4-3 win. With Aiden Koch on first base and no one out, Noah Klauser bunted to move him over to second. After two errant throws, Koch scampered home for the winning run.
Koch also pitched 2-2/3 innings to record his first win of the season, allowing no runs on three hits, while striking out one. Jackson Sims and Levi Hoener both pitched very well, combining for nine Ks over 5-1/3 innings, each allowing one earned run.
Lucas Logsdon led the Eagles at the plate with two hits and two RBI. Jarred Owens also collected two hits and an RBI.
The Eagles are back in action on Friday, August 16, with a 4:30 PM contest at home versus Jacksonville Our Savior.
