Saturday, August 24 - The LJHS baseball team failed to scratch out a run against the Central Panthers Saturday, falling in five innings, 10-0. Besides the lack of offense, mistakes in the field greatly affected the Eagles, as six errors led to seven unearned runs for the Panthers.
Levi Hoener (0-2) took the loss, throwing 3-1/3 innings, striking out two and giving up three hits. Devon Funk and Jackson Sims threw 2/3 and 1/3 of an inning, respectively, as the Panthers walked-off in the bottom of the 5th with the 10-run shortened game.
Offensively, Hoener, Jarred Owens, and Gavin Fessler each collected hits. Jacob Alexander swiped a bag and Fessler collected two steals.
The Eagles return to action Monday at home versus Payson.
