Thursday, August 29: The LJHS baseball team fell to Brown County Thursday night, 5-0. Despite the Eagles ability to get a runner on base in every inning except one, base running miscues and the inability to get a two-out hit led to the Hornets' shutout win. Jackson Sims and Jarred Owens collected a hit each with Aiden Koch reaching base twice via walk.
SIms (0-1) took the loss despite a very solid 3-2/3 innings of work which saw him strike out six. Devon Funk and Noah Klauser threw an inning and 1-1/3 inning of relief, respectively.
The Eagles look to bounce back Friday night against Western, with a 4:30 start in Kinderhook.
